Finding a job can be tough, and this post hopes to dispell some doubts.

Part 1. Where to look?

First stop: Infojobs.

Infojobs is probably the most visited job site and every day has hundreds of new listings. Over three million people have posted their CVs which is why recruiters are willing to pay good money for their ads to appear.

When searching the listings, you can often find jobs advertised in english, by searching with a english-language keyword (such as “you”). Try it:

Beware that many advertisers ‘cross-post’ from different regions, so the results are ofter mixed up with offers from the UK / Netherlands etc. InfoJobs also has a nice list of example CV’s you can copy in their advice folder (more about CV’s later).

Where else you can look

Later in part 2: how to make your CV spiffing and more jobs hunting tips.

My wife have really fallen in love with Barcelona and are currently trying to find a way to move to there. We have many friends from Spain and all of them are very excited at the prospect of us living there, but many are doubtful of us finding jobs right now in Barcelona as the economy isn’t any better there than it is for us here in the US.

Both of us are very experienced in the Advertising and Interactive Design fields, and are looking for something within our industries. We are willing to take a step back in our careers to get there, but we don’t want to give them up all together.

Anyway I was just wondering if you had anyone there with similar experiences that could give us some pointers on how to get there.
